Entertaining family, treating business colleagues to dinner, holding a meeting or event—whatever the case may be, we’re frequently having to answer the question, “Where should we eat?” Today I’m sharing three of my favorite restaurants in Palm Desert.
I’ve previously shared how we enjoy our community and life along the Santa Rosa and San Jacinto Mountains. And that includes supporting our favorite local restaurants. No matter the occasion, you’ll be treated to great food and enjoyable atmospheres when you dine at any of these Palm Desert establishments.
While the name gives it away, Castelli’s is our go-to for Italian. They’ve been awarded many times for their top-notch food and intimate atmosphere. It’s traditional—in the best way. The food is delicious, the portions are generous, the wait staff is attentive, and the wine list is abundant.
The “Celebrity Room,” where the walls are lined with photos of celebrities, is always a topic of conversation. They also have private dining spaces that are perfect for banquets or meetings. Pasta, seafood, prime beef, chops, veal, lamb—if you’re craving Italian, it’s surely on the menu.
This chef-owned restaurant is known for its French cuisine. Wine connoisseurs love Cuistot, the winner of the Best of Award of Excellence from Wine Spectator. The food is wonderful, but the atmosphere really makes coming to Cuistot an experience; the stone walls, exposed wood beams, and fireplaces create true ambiance.
And when the weather is right, the terrace is perfect for happy hour. The view of the park and waterfalls make it hard to choose whether to sit inside or out. An evening spent at Cuistot is always a treat.
When it comes to breakfast and brunch, Wilma & Frieda is the place to go. This casual cafe is bustling, especially on the weekends. While the menu is filled with traditional findings such as waffles, French toast, eggs, and omelets, they take everything up a notch from your standard diner dishes thanks to all the added details. You’ll have to try it for yourself!
The locals love this spot, which uses the freshest of ingredients. The cafe is relatively small, so if a table isn’t immediately available, trust that the food is always worth the wait.
