With a New Year comes the new opportunity to make this your best year ever. I’m sure that sounds great, but do you believe it is possible? The good news is we believe it can be, but it requires planning, focus, and a commitment to achieving your goals. At Cypress Wealth Services we are committed to helping our clients thrive in their First Growth and Second Growth stages of life. Therefore, we dedicate ourselves to helping you be successful in all areas of your life. We understand that the investment management job we perform is important, but more importantly it’s that your money is used to fund your needs and goals. To help you plan and prepare for 2018, we have included some great articles and tools that we think will help get you on your way!

Get Organized

Getting financially organized is a great foundation for making this your best year ever. A lack of financial organization can sometimes lead to undue stress and anxiety. Organizing your finances can help you make more informed decisions about your investments and financial plans. To help in this task, we have developed Life in a Book. It is a simple framework that allows you to start getting organized. If you need help with getting your Life in a Book started, please let us know and we can help. Click here to get your workbook.

Setting Goals

We think most people would agree that goal setting is a positive process at any stage of life. Do you know how to set goals? That may sound funny, but we regularly see people who struggle with this process. We believe goal setting is essential to having your best year ever. If you struggle with this process, we suggest you start with understanding the S.M.A.R.T. goal setting process. It is a great place to get started. Click here to read a great article that summarizes the S.M.A.R.T. framework and provides a template to get started.

Achieve Your Goals

Once you have set your goals how do you give yourself the best chance of achieving them? In our experience it is ideal to write them down and put them somewhere where you can review them regularly. Using a planner that helps you break your goals down into smaller and easier to accomplish activities are a great and inexpensive way to help you be accountable and be successful. The best place to start may be to Google “best goal setting planners for 2018.” There are a lot of planners out there, so choose wisely. If you need help finding a planner that fits you, please let us know and we can help.
